CFK: 'we are going to face the inconveniences of the drought'
Buenos Aires Herald
June 20, 2009

President Cristina Fern ndez de Kirchner said the government will initiate an "Argentine irrigation and water supply plan" to attack the consequences of a prolongued drought in the provinces.

"The same way we faced flood problems during the 90's, we are going to face the drought inconveniences. That's why we are going to introduce this plan," said the President.

She said the plan is "Argentine" and not "national" because this term could confuse the ones that have to carry on with the plan. "When someone says a national plan, everyone imagines it is from the government organization. To solve this problem we must help each other and collaborate with the provincial authorities and private sector."

Cristina Fern ndez de Kirchner said there are always "opportunist people" that harshly criticise the government, "When we row against the government we are rowing against society, because the government has the responsibility to solve the problems and help the country."

The President also announced additional 2.200.000 cubic metres of gas per day in TGS transport system to Buenos Aires. Once the constructive process is finished, the south transport system will have increased its transport capacity 9,4 million cubic metres per day.
