Argentina President: No Boden 2012 Bond Swap Planned

Despite press rumors to the contrary, Argentina has no plans to offer a swap for dollar denominated Boden bonds coming due in 2012, President Cristina Fernandez said Monday.

"Our plan is to reduce the debt," Fernandez said.

The government is likely to use Central Bank reserves to make the $2.2 billion payment due on the bonds next month, according to local press reports.
