The president of the National Agency for Investment Development will speak on Tuesday, the 19th, at 11:00am on the panel "Opportunities in the Regional Market: the Southern Cone" at the Forum on Competitiveness 2008.

The official was invited to participate by U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez on a panel that will be moderated by U.S. Ambassador to Argentina, Anthony Wayne.

Also participating will be the president of the Agency for Industrial Development in Brazil, Reginaldo Arcuri; the director of the Division on Innovation at the Economy Ministry of Chile, Orlando Jimenez and the Energy and Mining Minister of Uruguay, Daniel Martinez.

The goal of the Forum is to increase competitiveness through the interaction of government, universities and business leaders.

The participants will explore innovative ideas and best practices to promote economic growth and regional cooperation in four areas: alliances between education and businesses; trade opportunities for energy and renewable resources; logistics, tourism and investment, many of which have been put into place in Argentina, based on the exchange rate policy.
